Report: Man City have been monitoring £10m-rated forward, he's one of the youngest players at Euro 2024

It has been reported that Manchester City have been monitoring a young Turkish attacker.

Turkey seem to be producing several prodigies in attack, with the 19-year-old pair of Arda Guler and Kenan Yildiz lighting up Euro 2024 so far.

The youthful duo shone in their nation’s 3-1 victory against Georgia, where Guler found the back of the net in emphatic fashion. However, Manchester City have not set their sights on potentially signing either of the prodigious attackers.

Man City showing interest in Semih Kilicsoy

Pep Guardiola’s men always seem to be on the lookout for the next bright young star, as demonstrated by the successful signings of Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Julian Alvarez.

This time around, the Sky Blues have headed to the Trendyol Süper Lig to scout one of their brightest talents.

As per a report by The Mirror (23/06/2024, page 79), Manchester City have been “monitoring” Besiktas striker Semih Kilicsoy.

The youngster, who is also capable of playing on either flank has also been tracked by elite clubs like Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain.

It has been stated that even Fulham’s chief scout Brian Talbot has been making “regular checks” with the hope of bringing the Turkish international to Craven Cottage.

The report claims that £10 million is the market value in place for Manchester City-linked forward Kilicsoy.

The teenager is one of the only four 18-year-old players to be representing their nations at Euro 2024 — alongside PSG and France’s Warren Zaire-Emery, Feyenoord and Slovakia’s Leo Sauer as well as Basel and Georgia’s Gabriel Sigua.

While these players are all 18 and only separated by a matter of months, only Barcelona and Spain’s Lamine Yamal is 16.

Kilicsoy scored 12 goals in 35 appearances in all competitions for Besiktas last season — which must have been promising to discover for Manchester City.

Whether City make a move for the Istanbul-born talent will be interesting to see.
