Kyle Busch slips up, wrecks with Noah Gragson at New Hampshire: ‘It’s f***ed’

The day has gone from bad to worse for Kyle Busch at New Hampshire. Rowdy went around and wrecked in Stage 2 at the Magic Mile. Noah Gragson was involved in the incident as well, causing damage for both NASCAR drivers.

During the first half of the race, it was predominantly green flag runs. Not a lot of caution flags here today. That doesn’t mean Kyle Busch has had it easy, though. Busch found himself two laps down at one point in the race.

A lap down and racing hard, Busch was door-to-door with Noah Gragson. The 8 car might have gotten a bit loose and went up the track, causing both to spin.

After the wreck, Busch got on the radio and said, “Wheel is straight but it’s f***ed.”

Never before in his career has Kyle Busch had a season as miserable as this one. Even his last season at Joe Gibbs Racing went better than this and he had to luck into a win at Bristol Dirt that year.

This season, Busch has more finishes of P22 or worse (7) than he does top-10 finishes (5). It is a far cry from what Rowdy is used to being able to do on the track. Right now, there are no clear answers for Richard Childress Racing and the No. 8 team.

Kyle Busch fired off today and didn’t go anywhere but backward. He had no speed in his car and it felt like once again his team unloaded with a dud off the hauler. A driver like Busch needs a car setup to where he can do what he wants with it.

Kyle Busch has fallen off the pace since Kansas

The last top-10 finish that Kyle Busch had was at Kansas. He was set to get one at Sonoma until Ross Chastain moved him on the last lap, relegating Busch to P12. Since Darlington, the results have not lined up for this team.

Finishes of P27, P15, P35, P12, and P35 in the previous five races show how far the team has fallen in recent weeks. Today in New Hampshire, it looks like the trend is going to continue with another disappointing result.

When Busch made those comments last week about Joe Gibbs and Hendrick, he was serious. If another marquee team wanted to bring him to their organization in 2025, he would do it. If he can get out of his RCR deal. But he half-heartedly said he was committed to RCR and to seeing out the end of his contract.

Kyle Busch is clearly not happy with what RCR is doing at the moment. If there aren’t big changes made in the offseason to improve performance and race day setup, I believe Busch will be looking for a way out sooner rather than later. He does not have enough years left in racing to waste his time like this.
