Ukraine is working to supply new Patriot air defense systems. At the same time, the Ukrainian army needs long-range weapons, states Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"We have already received a decision on new Patriots for Ukraine and are preparing a continuation, we are working on the supply of more air defense systems," the president said.

According to Zelenskyy, long-range weapons will allow Ukraine to speed up the end of the war.

"And long-range is now a question not only of what we can achieve on the battlefield but also of when the war will end. The more we can do, the faster we will be able to force Russia to a just peace," he emphasized.

Ukraine needs air defense

Recently, Deputy Defense Minister Ivan Havryliuk said that thanks to aid packages from partners, Ukraine is closing the gap in military capabilities with Russia, but it needs more air defense systems and long-range weapons.

In particular, this week Romania announced its decision to transfer its Patriot system to Ukraine. It was not disclosed when the air defense system would arrive in Ukraine.

Ukraine will receive another Patriot system from the Netherlands. But this supply will be joined by another country that decided to remain anonymous.
