Arsenal now ‘in the race’ to sign 30-goal striker, club already know he’s leaving

Arsenal have reportedly joined the battle to sign one of the most prolific strikers in Europe last season who is now set to leave his club this summer.

The Gunners have made signing a centre-forward one of their most important priorities this summer, with Victor Osimhen one of many strikers Arsenal have been linked with in recent weeks, as well as Victor Gyokeres.

With a central midfielder and a defender also on Arsenal’s shortlist, the Gunners could have to get creative with who they sign this summer, with a striker arguably not as important as the other two positions.

And it appears that Arsenal are now looking at a potential bargain option in the window.

Arsenal join race to sign VfB Stuttgart sensation Serhou Guirassy

According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Arsenal are one of the three teams interested in signing VfB Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy, who this season scored an incredible 30 goals in all competitions for the German side, who finished second in the Bundesliga.

Plettenberg wrote on Twitter: “Serhou Guirassy has decided to leave Stuttgart! Guirassy has informed Stuttgart. Dortmund, AC Milan and Arsenal in the race. Chelsea out.”

With a reported release clause worth £15m, Guirassy is rightly viewed as one of the bargains of the summer after such an incredible year with Stuttgart, who could face Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League next season.

Indeed, Guirassys’ decision to leave Stuttgart is a big one for the transfer window, and for Arsenal, taking a punt on the Guinea international could be worth it given how cheap the striker will cost and how well he did this season.

Gunners can’t go wrong in signing Guirassy this summer

With a goal every 80 minutes this season, Guirassy’s form has been nothing short of remarkable, with the former Stade Rennais star firing Stuttgart to a historic finish in the Bundesliga having almost been relegated 12 months beforehand.

And for Arsenal, they can’t go wrong in signing Guirassy this summer, who with 30 goals in all competitions has proven that he could make the grade in the Premier League if given the chance.

Moreover, at £15m, the signing of Guirassy is a relatively risk-free deal, with the Gunners unlikely to lose out on anything financially if the French-born striker fails to work out in north London if a deal can be arranged.
