Fabrizio Romano has just given new information about Jack Harrison's potential move from Leeds to Everton

After weeks and weeks of radio silence on the transfer front, today has seen Everton’s exploits in the market explode into life.

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin now staying at Everton, thus scuppering their deal with Newcastle United for Yankuba Minteh, Alan Myers and Fabrizio Romano have been a busy couple of journalists.

Well, this latest update comes courtesy of the latter, with the Italian actually providing an update on Jack Harrison.

It was always thought that, after a successful loan spell last season, the winger might return to Goodison Park.

However, the lack of action had some fans worried. Well, worry no more.

Fabrizio Romano delivers Jack Harrison transfer update

Taking to X, the revered transfer guru chose the busiest possible time to sprinkle his piece of Everton news into the cauldron.

Just whilst everything else was bubbling over, causing absolute chaos, he would offer a simple claim with the three famous words that every football fan longs to hear attached within.

It read: ‘Jack Harrison, new Everton player as all docs are now signed — here we go confirmed. New exclusive detail: it’s loan move from Leeds United, no buy option… but with a view to make it permanent in due course, it’s concrete possibility. Deal sealed.’

It is particularly interesting to see that there is no immediate buy option, but there could be one down the line.

Given how important he has already proven under Sean Dyche, it is expected that, provided the fee is not too lofty, he would surely join permanently if possible.

It is so refreshing to see, for once, Everton standing strong on their various transfer stances.

Now allowing Manchester United to bully them into the sale of Jarrad Branthwaite, that stands alone as the foundation with which this summer is clearly built.

For so many years now, the Toffees have been willing to offload their prized assets for huge sums, to adhere to PSR, or just to compete in the market.

Well, having clearly found a loophole or two to stave off the former, perhaps this marks the start of a brighter, stronger future, hopefully buoyed by the hefty financial backing of Dan Friedkin too.
