Napoli could now make drastic Victor Osimhen decision that will put Arsenal on red alert

Napoli could reportedly make a surprise decision surrounding the future of Victor Osimhen that could be of great interest to Arsenal.

The Nigerian international is rumoured to be a target for the Gunners, with Osimhen regarded as one of the best strikers in the world having led Napoli to the 2022/23 Serie A title, ending a three-decade wait for a Scudetto.

Whilst Osimhen’s goals dried up in the following season, the 25-year-old still bagged an impressive 17 in all competitions, with the former LOSC Lille star remaining a target for the likes of Arsenal, even with a release clause worth €130m (£110m).

Yet Napoli could be about to make an interesting decision with Osimhen.

Napoli could soon drop Arsenal-linked Osimhen’s asking price

According to CalcioMercato, Napoli could lower Osimhen’s asking price way below the attacker’s rumoured release clause, with the Italian giants potentially setting their new demand for the striker at €100m (£85m).

Given how big a price drop this could be if it was to happen, Arsenal might be put on red alert over signing Osimhen, with the Gunners in the market to sign a world-class striker having missed out on the Premier League title this season.

Indeed, Osimhen would tick a lot of boxes for what Arsenal are looking for in a new leading attacker, with the Nigeria star one of the most complete forwards in world football and a player that Mikel Arteta could get a lot of joy out of.

And if Napoli were to lower their asking price for Osimhen to as low as £85m, Arsenal would be wise to make a move of their own to sign the striker, who could be the final piece of the puzzle in winning the Premier League.

Arsenal can’t afford to wait around for Osimhen

Osimhen has been linked with Arsenal for what feels like forever, with the Napoli attacker as perfect as they come in the transfer window in terms of a potential striker signing for the Gunners.

And after this latest update, Arsenal simply can’t afford to wait around to sign Osimhen, who at £85m could be a bargain signing this summer if Napoli do indeed drop their demands for the attacker.

Everyone is aware of Arsenal’s striker situation, and if the Gunners are quick enough, they could snap up Osimhen’s signature at a cut-rate price in what could be the signing that wins the north London side the Premier League title.
