Manager delivers stunning rant about £3.4m player who is set to sign for Nottingham Forest

The manager of the Brazilian club Corinthians has launched an amazing rant at a player who is about to sign for Nottingham Forest.

Carlos Miguel is going to swap South America for the East Midlands, with the player now nearing a move to the Premier League.

It’s been claimed that Miguel has passed his medical at Forest and that probably means that a deal is now close.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper has only actually made 25 appearances for Corinthians but at 6ft 7in he’s certainly going to be an uncompromising figure in goal.

Ahead of his move to Forest, the owner has seemingly had plenty to say about Miguel ahead of his City Ground switch.

Corinthians manager launches amazing rant at Carlos Miguel

Well, it would appear that Miguel has risked the wrath of the Corinthians’ manager Antonio Oliveira ahead of his departure.

Over the weekend, the team were in action against Athletico Paranaense but Miguel ruled himself out with an ankle problem.

That riled Oliveira and he basically launched into a verbal assault on the departing goalkeeper.

He told Globo Esporte: “No, Carlos Miguel no longer plays for Corinthians. I’ve said and I’ve said it in this group. Only those who want to be here at the club do it passionately and many of those who are in this position today should realise that many people dream of being able to represent one of the biggest clubs.

“It bothered me, it bothers me and Carlos Miguel won’t be playing for Corinthians any more.”

Miguel could be star signing for Forest but he will have to prove himself

This does feel like a good deal for Forest to make and hopefully, Miguel can quickly hit the ground running.

Miguel will become the tallest player in the Premier League when he does check-in and as a goalkeeper that bodes well.

Nothing against Matz Sels as he’s been very good since signing but Miguel could be a longer-term option.

The Brazilian has been backed to play for the national team by one journalist and he will hope to achieve that by playing well for Forest.

If he has faked an injury to force through a move to Forest, the Reds fan base will be hoping that he doesn’t do the same to them when the time comes for him to move on.

However, it does show that he’s desperate to make the switch to the club and that can only be a positive thing.

Miguel’s transfer now feels imminent and perhaps an announcement will now come this week.
