Polk County Deputy Arrested For DUI While Reporting For Duty

Joseph Everett (PCSO)

POLK COUNTY, Fla. - A Polk County Sheriff's deputy was arrested for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) of alcohol after exhibiting signs of intoxication while reporting for duty.

Joseph Everett, 27, a two-year veteran of the force, was taken into custody at the Sheriff's Processing Center.

“Anytime someone chooses to drive under the influence of alcohol, it shows a lack of good judgement. If you lack the proper judgement when it comes to drinking and driving, you have no business working in law enforcement. We hold our deputies to a higher standard than the community, and he failed to meet that standard," said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.
