Mills chose Texas over Cal, Washington, USC, Florida, and Nebraska. He took official visits to all those schools except USC.
Mills was an early evaluation from the Texas staff. Flood, Steve Sarkisian, and company showed long-term interest. Mills is one of several versatile linemen committed to Texas, along with Jackson Christian, Devin Coleman, and Jordan Coleman.
Mills is ranked as the No. 419 overall prospect, the No. 32 interior offensive lineman, and the No. 35 player in California according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. On3 ranks Mills as the No. 26 interior offensive lineman and the No. 33 player in California.
