'Mad': Joe Hart says Celtic fans did something 'special' for him which will stay with him forever

Joe Hart will always be remembered fondly by the Celtic fans after his three trophy-laden years at the club.

Arriving at Celtic in 2021 under Ange Postecoglou, Hart brought some much-needed stability to the backline after the disastrous purchase of Vasilis Barkas.

Three seasons and seven trophies out of nine, including a record-breaking eighth domestic treble, ensured that Hart left Celtic a legend in the eyes of the Parkhead support.

And it showed on Trophy Day. The incredible tifo that the Green Brigade made for Hart was a testament to the high regard the Celtic support held him in, and here, Hart explains how he felt when he saw the fantastic banner.

Joe Hart was ‘scared’ by Celtic banner

Hart has an incredible bond with the Celtic support. He has never stopped talking about it since he left the club and speaking again about the fans, the former Hoops hero admitted the tifo ‘scared’ him.

Hart said [Football Scotland], “Mad. It scared me a little bit. I’m not a guy who is scared, either.

“I always think, why not, let’s go. It just made me feel there are a lot of very good things happening. I was scared, but also feeling great at the same time.

“We had trophy lift, families on the pitch, that club celebrates properly. In the last 13 years, won 12 leagues and still every single trophy is celebrated like it is everything and I love that about the place.

“That was a special day that will live with me forever and ever.”

Now out of football, Hart is enjoying his new role as a pundit at Euro 2024. However, he will always be missed by the Celtic fans.

Brendan Rodgers has an incredibly tough job on his hands to replace the former England international with many names being banded around by the media.

One thing is for sure, whoever Celtic does bring in next, he will have a huge pair of gloves to fill after the big Englishman’s Paradise departure.
