N'Golo Kante says whether he will return to European football one day

At one stage, it looked like former Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante was finished at the top level.

N’Golo Kante had not become a bad player or anything like that.

However, the midfielder, now 33 years of age, picked up so many injuries towards the end of his Chelsea career before moving to Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Pro League is, of course, not the strongest division in the world, though that may change soon if it continues to import some of Europe’s top players.

Despite Kante not playing in one of Europe’s top divisions, that has not stopped him from excelling at Euro 2024 with France.

N’Golo Kante discusses potential return to Europe

With all eyes on Kante again, perhaps the Frenchman could start to attract interest from European teams.

If that happens, it does not look like he will automatically reject them.

When asked if he is done with European football in a press conference, Kante told Get French Football News and others in attendance: “No, it’s not finished yet. In Saudi, a new kind of football, a new experience.

“But I’m enjoying my return [to this level]. It’s great to be back with the French team and I’m touched by it. But that’s not a question I’m asking myself today.”

Should Chelsea consider re-signing N’Golo Kante?

Kante was absolutely loved at Stamford Bridge, helping Chelsea to win the Premier League and Champions League, and is showing at Euro 2024 that he is still a very good midfielder.

As per WhoScored, Kante is currently making 2.5 tackles per game in Germany, which is the highest average in his squad.

The France international also looks to have got over his injury problems after making 44 appearances for Al-Ittihad last season.

With Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez now in midfield, though, the two-most expensive signings in Chelsea’s history, the Blues look to have moved on from Kante.

They also have Romeo Lavia, whom Enzo Maresca is reportedly going to make key. Kante, then, is probably not someone who Chelsea need to look at this summer.
