Manchester United aim to make good use of the club’s ability to utilise Ineos’ multi-club ownership.
In addition to Manchester United, Ineos own stakes in French club Nice and Swiss side Lausanne.
However, early plans to potentially make use of this have been hit by UEFA blocking deals between United and Nice, because the two teams are both in the Europa League in 2024/25.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe hit out at this, insisting via The Times it was unfair he could not sign Jean-Clair Todibo, who ‘really wanted’ to sign for Manchester United.
Ineos are not deterred by the problem, and are continuing to recruit with a view to the future.
Lausanne pushing to sign Fabricio Oviedo
Swiss side Lausanne are now pushing to secure a transfer deal for Argentine striker Fabricio Oviedo.
United In Focus understands this deal is taking place under the express recommendation of Manchester United’s scouts.

Oviedo is a player Manchester United have watched through the club’s South American scouting network.
Argentine outlet La Capita report Ineos have sent a formal proposal to Oviedo’s club Rosario Central, which would be a loan with an option to buy.
Rosario Central are evaluating the offer along with Oviedo, and recognise it is a big opportunity for the young forward.
Who is Fabricio Oviedo
Fabricio Oviedo, 20, has 17 first team appearances for Rosario Central, scoring two goals for the club.
He has made the bench in the Copa Libertadores, although is awaiting his debut in the competition.
Oviedo was handed his professional debut at 18, with his manager at the time being former Manchester United forward Carlos Tevez.
Despite this, he has not yet been able to hold down a regular starting spot in attack, and Rosario are likely going to be tempted to accept Lausanne’s offer.
Just because Oviedo is heading to Lausanne, does not mean he will one day land up at Manchester United, he might not earn it.
But what this does show, is how Ineos are using their connections for the benefit of their clubs
Ineos currently have Italian whizkid Simone Pafundi on loan at Lausanne from Udinese, with the deal running to December 31.
