Real Madrid have made formal offer to sign teenager for £16m, Pep reportedly wants him at Man City

A report claims Real Madrid have now made a formal offer to sign a youngster who Manchester City and Pep Guardiola are interested in signing.

If there is one facet of the transfer market where Guardiola and Ancelotti’s sides share a similarity, it is in their constant pursuit of building a team for the future.

Real Madrid have signed future superstars like Rodrygo, Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni in recent seasons.

Similarly, Manchester City have signed talented young players such as Julian Alvarez, Maximo Perrone and Claudio Echeverri.

Report reveals Franco Mastantuono interest from Man City and Real Madrid

The pair of elite clubs seem to be a step ahead of the rest in the transfer market due to their forward-thinking recruitment.

Both City and Los Blancos seem keen on not just strengthening their first-team for the present but also for years in advance — with both tasks seemingly being equally important priorities.

One such player who both Manchester City and Real Madrid are interested in signing is, as per a report under two weeks ago.

The report also stated that Pep Guardiola was keen on bringing the River Plate attacking midfielder to the Etihad Stadium — who had agreed personal and financial terms with the champions of Europe.

SPORT have now reported that Real Madrid have presented a formal proposal to the Argentine club worth £16.8 million (€20 million) to sign Manchester City-linked wonderkid Mastantuono. The proposal stems from Los Merengues CEO Jose Angel Sanchez.

The Spanish giants do not wish to undergo any twists and turns in the race to sign the 16-year-old — intending to sign him as soon as possible.

The teenager is believed to have a €45 million (£37.9 million) release clause in his contract. River Plate have not showcased how they feel about Real Madrid’s offer — before which the club have always had a strict stance of any club paying the value of the release clause to sell their prized asset.

The report states that with Manchester City have signed players from River Plate like Julian Alvarez and Claudio Echeverri, they share a good relationship with the club — which could mean they could discover the ploy from Real Madrid and present a better offer to sign Franco Mastantuono.
