'You'll reach the top': Jermaine Beckford reacts as player sends farewell message to Leeds fans

Jermaine Beckford has sent a touching message to a Leeds United player after he posted a farewell message to the club’s supporters, via his Father’s Twitter account.

Leeds have been busy over the last week in sorting the future of Victor Orta’s loan army. It seems as if that is a priority for Daniel Farke and the transfer team, before sorting out any potential incoming.

Robin Koch and Luis Sinisterra have left permanently and are about to be joined by Marc Roca, with Leeds said to be happy with the deal that sees him join Real Betis beyond his loan spell at the club last season.

Brenden Aaronson’s future has been sorted with the USA star set to return to Elland Road and play a part next season, while Jack Harrison has returned to Everton on a season’s loan, his deal lasting until 2028.

Plenty of others are leaving Leeds at the end of the month, with a number of contracts coming to an end. The likes of Luke Ayling, Jamie Shackleton, Liam Cooper and Lew Bate will see their deals end on the 30th.

Leeds teenager waves goodbye via his Father after 11 years

A handful of young players who never earned a first-team opportunity are also heading out the door and one of those is Keenan Carole. The 19-year-old played nine times for the club’s U21 side last season.

A French winger and the son of former Leeds man Seb Carole, he had been at Leeds since the age of eight and played 50 times in league and cup for the club’s U18 side, having a hand in 15 goals and assists.

Via his Father’s Twitter account which has a healthy Leeds following given Keenan’s presence in the Leeds academy, the winger waved goodbye to fans after the Leeds retained list confirmed his exit on a free.

He said: “This is goodbye after 11 years. I built some friendships, worked with fantastic people and played with and against great academy players. I will keep wonderful memories. Thanks everyone at LUFC.”

Beckford replies with touching message to Leeds man Carole

Beckford and former Leeds winger Carole were teammates at Elland Road back in the day, sharing the pitch on 30 occasions. Carole played 52 times for Leeds, as well as Monaco, West Ham and Brighton.

The Leeds icon and pundit responded to Carole’s message, with a heartfelt post urging him to keep working hard and his time will come. He is confident that young Carole can go right to the top.

He said: “This isn’t the end of the road, it’s just a different route to your ultimate goal. Stay positive and focused, work harder than before, you’ll reach the top before you know it! Talented player, good luck.”
