‘Agreement in place’: Chelsea are going to trigger release clause for ‘unstoppable’ player – Romano

Chelsea are reportedly set to make another new signing in the coming days as they continue to put faith in the new manager at the club.

Enzo Maresca will no doubt be keen to see a number of new players come through the door in order for him to have the best opportunity possible to succeed at Stamford Bridge.

So far, they have confirmed the addition of Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer, as well as the future signing of highly-rated Estevao Willian from next summer.

However, it has been reported that the Italian was not keen on starting the season with just Nicolas Jackson available as a striker option.

This looks set to be addressed though, with Fabrizio Romano stating on Twitter that Chelsea are set to trigger the release clause to bring in Barcelona’s Marc Guiu.

Chelsea to sign Marc Guiu

He said: “Marc Guiu to Chelsea, here we go! The club has just informed Barça on plan to trigger €6m release clause for 2006 born striker.

“Verbal agreement in place with Guiu’s agents, now proceeding with formal steps later this week. Guiu expected to sign long term deal at Chelsea.”

Despite the relatively low fee surrounding the transfer, there is still plenty of excitement in the game that he can be a fantastic player in the future.

Chelsea cool interest in Jhon Duran

A former coach has already described him as‘unstoppable’ when he is given space, and he already made an impact for the Barcelona first team before his now imminent move.

It remains to be seen if this is the only striker that comes into the club, with a number of other names already being mentioned as potential targets.

One of those who was high up the list was Jhon Duran, however that seems to have cooled for now as they prioritise other deals.
