Oxford, Reading and Swindon all set to start their seasons live on Sky Sports

The EFL fixture calendar was released this week, with Oxford, Reading and Swindon all set to play their opening games in front of the Sky cameras.

Newly promoted Championship side Oxford United face a start they’ll be happy with, after being handed a home fixture against Norwich on the opening day, broadcast live on Sky Sports at the early time of 12:30.

This will be followed by two away trips to Coventry and Blackburn, before returning to the Kassam to face Preston.

Reading were gifted a nightmarish start to their second year in League One, facing newly relegated Birmingham City at St Andrews on the opening day, at the late kick off time of 5:30 on Sky.

Next up will be the visit of an ambitious Wigan Athletic to the SCL Stadium, before another away trip to big spending Wrexham. Charlton at home will round off August, in what may be a tough start for the Royals.

Fourth tier Swindon Town will start their season live on Sky too, as newly promoted Chesterfield host the Robins on Friday 9th August, an 8pm kick off.

This will be followed by clashes with Walsall, Crewe and Notts County, in a tricky opening month.
