Former LSU and current Kansas player Collier Cranford has entered the NCAA transfer portal for a second time, On3’s Pete Nakos has learned.
Cranford spent the first three years of his career at LSU before transferring to Kansas prior to the 2023 season. He has spent the last two years with the Jayhawks.

After a relatively unsuccessful stint at LSU, Collier Cranford emerged as a quality contributor in the infield at Kansas. He hit .274 as a redshirt junior in 2024, knocking out 59 hits, five home runs, 15 doubles and two triples. He had a career-high 45 RBI.
That came one year after he hit .251 on 187 at-bats.
His usage was significantly higher at Kansas than at LSU, where his season-high for at-bats was 47 back in 2021. After hitting .289 as a freshman, Cranford hit just .106 in his second season, then .133 in his third before hitting the transfer portal.
Now that he’s proven he’s a more adept all-around player, Collier Cranford will likely find some suitors in the transfer portal.
Texas A&M’s Kaeden Kent enters the portal
Collier Cranford isn’t the only somewhat high-profile player to enter the NCAA transfer portal on Wednesday, as a slew of Texas A&M players threw their hats in the ring following the departure of coach Jim Schlossnagle to Texas.
Infielder Kaeden Kent, the son of long-time MLB star Jeff Kent, has also entered the portal.
The sophomore was a staple in the lineup for the Aggies in their run to the College World Series final in 2024, featuring regularly at both second and third base.
He started about half of his team’s games, getting 24 starting nods in 51 appearances.
Kent put together a tremendous batting average considering he often hit in the latter part of the lineup, racking up a .327 average on the season. He didn’t hit much for power, though he did finish the season with four home runs.
H had 10 extra-base hits. he also drew 16 walks and was hit by a pitch once, recording an OBS of .414.
