Report: Celtic face transfer competition from Leeds for promising striker

With Celtic yet to announce their first signing of the transfer window the fans will be watching closely for news of an announcement as Brendan Rodgers looks to strengthen the first team for the season ahead.

Despite there being plenty of rumour and speculation, the club are keeping their cards close to their chest even though pre-season is almost upon us.

With a goalkeeper being a top priority for the club, reports that an offer for Dominik Livakovic where quashed which means the search continues for a new number one after the retirement of Joe Hart.

But it seems that it’s not just the first team Celtic are looking to strengthen after recent rumours linking the club to England U18 international, Ajay Matthews.

And it seems that Celtic have their eye on another 18-year-old talent as a recent report from Sports World Ghana says the club are looking to Norway for their next possible addition.

Edmund Aidoo wanted by Leeds United and Celtic

Before leaving the club, Aidoo helped take Asanska from the Ghanaian third tier into the second division and to victory in the Greater Accra Regional Football Association (GARFA) Super Cup.

In 17 appearances so far for Sogndal, Aidoo has scored eight goals and created six as the 18-year-old enjoys his first season in top-flight football.

Predominantly a right-winger, the highly-rated youngster can also play as a striker.

If successful in capturing his signature, it is likely that Aidoo will be drafted into the Celtic B team and will be one to keep an eye on for the future.
