Arsenal and Man Utd told there is 'possibility' of signing Victor Osimhen if one thing happens

Arsenal and Manchester United have now both been told that they stand a chance of signing Victor Osimhen this summer.

Arsenal are on the hunt for a new striker this summer.

Mikel Arteta is keen to bolster his attacking contingent ahead of the new campaign. Arsenal have already tried to sign Benjamin Sesko, but missed out on the Slovenian after he decided to sign a new contract with RB Leipzig.

Arsenal have since begun work on a deal for Viktor Gyokeres. However, until a new player is brought in to the Emirates Stadium to take up this vacancy in the squad, then speculation around potential targets will continue to mount.

Fabrizio Romano informs Arsenal of Victor Osimhen availability

Arsenal have been credited with an interest in Victor Osimhen in the past. However, the Napoli striker will not come cheaply.

The Italian club are currently said to want £101 million for Osimhen. However, there is a chance that they could drop their asking price.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, speaking on Playback: “In this moment of the market, keep an eye also in England, because Osimhen could be a big possibility. If Napoli changes the price of Victor Osimhen, there could be a possibility for other clubs to enter.

“For example, Manchester United are looking for a striker. We know about Joshua Zirkzee and this battle with Milan, but also Arsenal are looking for a striker.”

Even if Napoli did lower their financial demands, it would still take an enormous investment to bring the Nigerian forward to North London. That being said, signing Osimhen would represent a seismic statement of intent from the Gunners.

Should Arsenal go all out to sign Victor Osimhen?

Whilst signing a new striker is certainly on the agenda for Arteta, bringing in a midfielder to complement Declan Rice is currently the top priority for Arsenal, and for good reason.

Jorginho no longer has the legs to start games week in, week out, and Thomas Partey could be set to leave the club. The Gunners desperately need more support and cover for the former West Ham United man in the middle of the park.

There are other areas of the squad that need addressing, too. Arsenal have been linked with potential acquisitions in multiple positions, and will have gaps to fill in their ranks once certain sales have been made.

With all that taken into account, it is unlikely that the Gunners would be able to get done everything that they need to get done this summer if they allow a move for Osimhen to blow a huge chunk of their transfer budget away.
