Aberdeen manager comments on speculation surrounding Bojan Miovski amid links to Celtic

Speculation surrounding Bojan Miovski and Celtic has been going on for a number of months now.

Whilst there seems to be no further movement on whether or not Celtic are ready to make a move, Aberdeen CEO, Alan Burrows, did confirm yesterday that no bids have been made for the international striker.

With Hyeongyu Oh looking like he is on his way out of Celtic after rumours about Genk looking to buy him, If the South Korean did go, it would leave just Kyogo Furuhashi as Celtic’s only recognised striker.

Aberdeen is said to be looking for around £7m for Miovski, whilst Celtic has the cash, it remains to be seen if they have the endeavour to pay such a fee for a striker from the Scottish league.

And as pre-season approaches, Dons boss, Jimmy Thelin, has spoken about the speculation surrounding his star striker.

Thelin to ‘focus’ on Miovski

Thelin arrived at Aberdeen just at the end of the season and has had to deal with constant rumours about Miovski and Celtic.

And here, the Pittodrie gaffer addresses them for the first time.

Thelin said [Press & Journal], “I’m used to transfer windows.

“He is an Aberdeen player. And that is what the focus is on.”

However, it’s not just Miovski who has been involved in some Celtic chatter over the last few days. Aberdeen striker, Duk, was asked if he would like to join the Parkhead club in an interview last week.

And after Dons CEO, Alan Burrows, commented on Duk yesterday, Thelin has also addressed the Aberdeen forward’s future.

Thelin continued, “They are still here.

“As a person in this business, I like to be optimistic and believe in the players we have.

“They are still here so I believe in them.”

With Celtic looking to add another forward this summer, the club are also said to be interested in signing Adam Idah after his successful Parkhead loan spell.

With the season set to get underway in August, the clock is ticking for the Celtic boss to add new faces to the first team and the fans will be hoping that the announcement will come sooner rather than later.
