Agent says two clubs want to sign 'spectacular' £9m Manchester United player this summer

Facundo Pellistri is one player likely to be sold by Manchester United this summer, with Amad Diallo’s emergence as a starter.

Early in the 2023/24 season, it seemed as though Facundo Pellistri was due for a breakout year in Erik ten Hag’s squad.

This changed quickly as after a few appearances, the manager seemingly got fed up and relegated him to the bench again.

From here, Pellistri then ended up making a January loan move to Granada where he impressed against Barcelona with a goal and an assist but struggled for most of the loan given Granada are a poor side.

Now back at Manchester United, he looks set for another exit, especially after recent reports suggested he’s for sale this summer ahead of his contract expiring in 2025.

Now, his agent has opened up on this very possibility.

Two clubs make contact over Facundo Pellistri

For Manchester United, there are several players this summer who are up for sale should an offer arrive and one of these names is Uruguayan winger Facundo Pellistri.

The talent who cost £9m under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has never truly looked like making it at Old Trafford and now after a poor loan at Granada and Amad Diallo’s increased importance, it seems his time is done.

This comes as his agent has confirmed Pellistri has two offers already this summer in regards to a potential exit from United.

In an interview with Radio Carve Deportiva – as quoted by Debate Uruguay – Edgardo Lasalvia explained that his client – Pellistri – already has two interested clubs, but nothing will be decided until Copa America is finished.

“We are going to wait for the end of the Copa América to see the future of each one. For Pellistri I had contacts from Panathinaikos and Real Valladolid.”

This seems to suggest that a meeting will be had once the tournament is finished with Pellistri likely knowing his time at United is up.

Interest in Pellistri is high with Flamengo being linked recently, although his agent has since shot down those rumours.

Selling Pellistri is the best choice for all involved

When Pellistri arrived he was an incredibly exciting prospect to have at the club considering that he was relatively unknown in the footballing world, but came with high praise.

Speaking to El Pais via Somos Invictos, Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo lauded Pellistri as “spectacular” and admitted that the United whiz had surprised him.

Unfortunately, Pellistri just doesn’t seem up for English football and United quite clearly views him as the fourth or fifth choice on the right.

His placement would only have dropped further as well considering the impending emergence of Shea Lacey.

It’s a shame to see Pelllistri not work out, but hopefully United get a favourable deal and he goes on to thrive wherever he ends up.
