Club now set to make bid to sign Leeds player permanently, they believe they can get him to join - journalist

Real Betis are now growing in confidence they can complete a second raid on Leeds United this summer.

Betis are already close to finalising a deal to re-sign Marc Roca on a permanent deal but do not look like they will be stopping there.

Roca spent last season on loan at Betis and had looked as though he would be joining on a second temporary deal, but the two clubs have instead worked to find a permanent solution.

It appears as though both clubs are happy with the agreement they have managed to reach, with Betis paying significantly less than the £10 million Leeds did to sign him from Bayern Munich in 2022.

Despite that, Leeds are said to be ‘content’ over the fee they are set to receive and it looks as though it is set to be announced either this week, or next.

Betis now growing in confidence for Diego Llorente deal

Clearly the two clubs have managed to strike up a decent relationship behind-the-scenes based on the amicable agreement they managed to reach with Roca.

And that may well hand Betis a boost in their pursuit of another Leeds player, which also seems to be ramping up.

News of the Spanish club’s interest in Diego Llorente arose this week and according to journalist Samuel Silva, there has been a further development.

Llorente has spent the last season-and-a-half on loan in Italy at AS Roma, but it is said they are only currently requesting another loan.

In contrast, Betis are actually ‘willing’ to make a permanent offer to Leeds for the 30-year-old and are growing in confidence they can convince him to return to Spain.

Llorente does not have a loan clause in his contract this summer and so clearly if a side is willing to try and sign him on a permanent deal, they will have the upper hand.

What is Leeds’ asking price for Llorente this summer

Leeds spent a whopping £18 million to sign Llorente from Real Sociedad in the summer of 2020.

Unfortunately for Leeds, they are not going to get anywhere near that sort of figure when it comes to selling him, and a big loss could be on the cards.

An asking price of £4 million had initially been rumoured earlier this month but reports over the last few days have suggested that has been dropped to £3 million.

Leeds surely need to be doing everything they can to try and create some sort of bidding war between Roma and Betis, so they can receive the best possible fee.
