‘Definitely helps’: Marc Guehi says ‘unbelievable’ Man City player has been so impressive at Euro 2024

Marc Guehi has been a key figure for England at the 2024 European Championship so far.

The centre-back has started all three of the Three Lions’ games in the tournament alongside Manchester City’s John Stones.

Across those three group games, the centre-back duo have only conceded one goal, which came during the 1-1 draw with Denmark.

Having topped their group, England will now take on Slovakia this weekend in the knockout round of the tournament.

Now though, the Crystal Palace star has shared some significant praise for another City figure he’s been playing alongside in Germany.

Marc Guehi hails Kyle Walker and what he offers England at Euro 2024

When asked about Kyle Walker in a recent press conference (via BBC Sport), Guehi had this to say about the full-back.

He said: “Top, unbelievable player. His tenacity and leadership show in tough moments. His pace definitely helps a lot in any situation.

“His reading of the game is fantastic but he’s not just a one-trick pony, he reads the game so well too.”

Walker has proven himself to be a top-level full-back

Having racked up 612 senior club appearances and won a plethora of domestic and European trophies with Pep Guardiola’s side, in addition to having 86 senior England caps, there’s no denying the experience and pedigree the 34-year-old has as a top-level player.

As one of the four outfield players to feature in every minute of action throughout the Euros, this highlights how integral Walker is for the Three Lions.

In addition to that, Rio Ferdinand recently said that the City captain would be the only outfield player in the current England side that would get into the 2004 Three Lions side dubbed the Golden Generation.

With all of that taken on board, it’s easy to see why Guehi thinks so highly of his international teammate and what he’s able to do on the pitch.
