WR Landon Roldan commits to Georgia: ‘This is a dream come true’

Landon Rolden

Bogart (Ga.) North Oconee 2025 wide receiver Landon Roldan opened some eyes this summer. He attended a handful of camps, where he turned in impressive sub 4.5-second times in the 40-yard dash. Roldan added numerous offers and it came down to Georgia and Georgia Tech.

After taking official visits to the in-state schools, Roldan has committed to the school he grew up a fan of.

“It was my dream growing up to play for Georgia, so after thinking about it for a couple of days, I couldn’t pass up committing to Georgia,” Roldan told On3. “Georgia has a great coaching staff, it is a great locker room of guys, the atmosphere is electric and they have a winning history.

“I like Georgia Tech a lot and it was a tough decision, my grandpa went to Georgia, I have been going to games every season since I was a kid and this is a dream come true.”

Mike Bobo received the first call Tuesday night. James Coley was next. Then Kirby Smart. The coaches shared the same reaction.

“Coach Bobo was super-excited and coach Coley was the same. He is ready for me to be part of the family. The coach Smart and his family were pumped when I gave him the news. It was a great feeling.”

Roldan is ready to go to work as a Georgia Bulldog

He was in Athens for games last year as a fan. Rolden is very familiar with Sanford Stadium. Now he will get to suit up in the silver britches as part of the team and he can’t wait.

“If you go to Georgia, you are going to get developed and turned into an amazing player, Roldan said. “They have a history of that. At Georgia, I will get to go against the best and I can’t wait for that.

“Going to Georgia, I know I will be on a very good team that is hard working and very talented. I love that. At Georgia, I will be pushed and go against the best every day. That is something I am excited about.”

Playing for Georgia’s staff excites Roldan

Roldan lives about 15 minutes from the Georgia campus. He will be back in July, then at most home games in the fall. He is excited to get closer to the staff that he believes in.

“I love coach Bobo, coach Smart and coach Coley,” Roldan said. “Working with coach Coley is awesome. I camped at Georgia, worked with him and he is a great teacher. Coach Coley is very detailed, I loved his background and he has shown he can develop receivers. It is great talking to him, we have an awesome relationship and I know he is going make me into a better player.”

Not only is Roldan looking forward to learning from Coley on a day to day basis, but he can’t wait to join Smart’s program.

“Georgia is a prestigious program that wins a lot of games. They are the best of the best and they have shown that. Coach Smart is all about hard work, he is going to push his players to be the best and I love his attitude.”
