Billionaire Elon Musk’s father Errol Musk claims that the baby he had with his own step-daughter was the result of a ‘one-off mistake’, in the potential source of the feud between the family.
Tesla Motors CEO, SpaceX Founder, and owner of X (formerly Twitter), Elon Musk is never short of controversial headlines. No longer the richest man in the World, Musk still has a staggering net worth of over 212 billion dollars. The celebrity, not short of public Hollywood feuds, is also claiming he will fight competing social media giant Mark Zuckerberg in a live-streamed cage-fight. The father of 12 children from multiple mothers, continues to confuse the World with his controversial name choices for his kids. Elon is also engaged in a public feud with his father, Errol Musk, the source of which may be rooted in his dad’s controversial choice to father a child with his own stepdaughter.
Elon Musk’s public feud with his father
During a moving interview with Rolling Stone, an emotional Elon discusses his relationship with his father.
“He was such a terrible human being,” Musk shares. “You have no idea.”
“My dad will have a carefully thought-out plan of evil,” he says with a trembling voice. “He will plan evil.”
Errol separated from his wife, and Elon’s mother, May Musk, when the Tesla CEO was just eight years old. His siblings, Kimbal and Tosca stayed with their mother while Elon returned to live with his father. This is when the challenges in their relationship began.
Errol remarried with Heidi-Mari Musk, who had three children at the time, including four year old-daughter Jana Bezuidenhout. Errol fathered a further two children with wife Heidi in their 18-year marriage.
Although Errol has publicly said: “I love my children and would readily do whatever for them,” Elon claimed he had to sever the relationship with his father after realizing he would never change.
“Nothing, nothing. I wish. I’ve tried everything,” he said. “I tried threats, rewards, intellectual arguments, emotional arguments, everything to try to change my father for the better, and he… no way, it just got worse.”

The tech-billionaire’s father, now 78, controversially impregnated his stepdaughter Jana Bezuidenhout, now 35.
In 2018, Errol reconnected with his step-daughter Bezuidenhout when she sought comfort in him following a break-up from her partner. In an interview with The Sunday Times, Errol describes the relationship: “We were lonely, lost people. One thing led to another – you can call it God’s plan or nature’s plan.”
He refers to his 10-month-old son Elliot Rush as an “exquisite child” and said Jana was a “delightful girl and a wonderful mother.”
Heidi-Mari Musk did not hold back on her former husband’s engagement with her daughter, calling him a ‘bad man’ who has ‘ruined everything’ for the family.
“He has caused an incredible amount of pain for me and his children and now brought shame on the family again. We are furious that he could make his own stepchild pregnant. And that he blows it out for the world.” Heidi-Marie told the MailOnline. “We have tried to get peace in our hearts, but he has now ruined everything.”
This revelation has caused a further schism between Elon Musk and his father. “The whole family was outraged when we found out,” an insider claimed. “This is the reason why Elon is so angry with Errol. He is the only father she has ever known. And now he is the father of her child as well.”
