The latest Chelsea transfer news is now really worrying for 'priceless' current Blue - opinion

Chelsea are taking some real steps towards making another big signing to bolster their first team squad ahead of the new season.

It is no surprise that they are looking to bring in a number of new stars in an attempt to give the adequate backing to new manager Enzo Maresca.

It remains to be seen just how much of a say the Italian has in any incomings this summer. It seemed as if former manager Mauricio Pochettino’s resistance to having Conor Gallagher sold was a real sticking point that saw him relieved of his duties.

However, it has been claimed recently that the Blues are strongly interested in signing one player Maresca has plenty of experience working with already.

It has emerged that Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is high up on Chelsea’s list of potential targets this summer, so much so that they have already made an offer to bring him in.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall news worrying for Conor Gallagher

Whether the deal comes off or not, the fact that they are looking for another midfielder suggests the future is not looking too bright for Gallagher.

The England international made his first start for his country at a major tournament at Euro 2024 recently, however is still reportedly available for a transfer at the right price.

The fact that there are no talks of a new contract on the table for a player with 12 months left on his deal does suggest that they could be looking to cash in before he leaves for free.

He was described as ‘priceless’ by Pochettino last season, and was club captain for near enough the whole of last season suggests he saw him as undroppable despite having Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

It was already thought that Gallagher was not going to be the best fit for Maresca, however there is already proof in the pudding that he can get the best out of Dewsbury-Hall if given the chance.
