Donald Trump's campaign tried to take a victory lap Friday afternoon, bragging that in the 24 hours since the Biden debate debacle, the former president had raised millions.

What it may not have seen coming: a haymaker of a Joe Biden campaign counter-punch.

Karoline Leavitt, press secretary for the Trump campaign, appeared on Fox News' "The Ingraham Angle," and told stand-in host Brian Kilmeade the campaign raised $8 million.

"Democrats are in disarray today," she said.

The donations came from all 50 states and averaged about $70 each, which, she said, illustrates that Trump is building a "movement," supported by "millions and millions of hard-working people."

It was meant to be a slam dunk — until the Biden camp swatted the boast.

"Fox: New fundraising numbers after last nights debate show last night's showdown between President Biden and Donald Trump. Trump raised $8 million, while the Biden campaign out-raised them at $14 million," wrote @bidenharrishq.

The fundraising boom comes after pundits and social media users widely panned President Joe Biden's performance.

In the minutes following the debate, TV news anchor and broadcast journalist Chris Wallace called Biden's showing a "car accident in slow motion" as fellow anchor Erin Burnett wondered aloud: "Does he know how bad this was?"

But the Biden campaign's counter-punch appeared to lift the spirits of some supporters, if only for a moment.

"Oh that’s interesting," wrote @FayeEsq.

"Yep. I love it," said @onlyonecomment. "Now use that 14 million to run clips from today’s rally in all of the swing states and major markets. Show them Fighting Joe!"

"Woahhh," replied @Superbless_.
