Emerging footage shows new Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris mingling with fans at home shirt launch

Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris was at the club shop for the launch of the new 2024/25 home shirt on Friday.

Sunderland released their new home shirt for the upcoming 2024/25 season on Friday, with fans swarming to the club shop to buy theirs.

The Black Cats have reunited with German manufacturer hummel after 30 years apart and Sunderland fans have reacted positively to the style and design of the new shirt.

The release of this new and popular home shirt eases some tensions between fan and club after several challenging months behind the scenes at the Stadium of Light.

Owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus and sporting director Kristjaan Speakman faced strong criticism for the four-month search process to find a new manager.

Eventually, Regis Le Bris arrived at the club, replacing Michael Beale following his sacking in February.

And several Sunderland fans got the chance to speak with their new manager during the home shirt launch on Friday.

Louis-Dreyfus, Speakman, and Le Bris were all spotted at the Stadium of Light on Friday as the new 2024/5 home shirt was put on sale.

And Le Bris could be spotted chatting with supporters and having his picture taken with several of them.

Le Bris was also spotted talking with Speakman about the design of the home shirt, whilst Louis-Dreyfus was spotted handing out pink slices to supporters who waited in line to buy the new home shirt.

The home shirt sold out online within two hours of being on sale.

Sunderland reconnecting with fans after tough manager search process

The whole manager fiasco really gave Sunderland fans a hard time, with fans criticising Speakman perhaps more than anyone.

He’s the one who’s mainly in charge of footballing matters at the club and so he was rightly the man under the spotlight as Sunderland continued to be set back in their search for a new manager.

But Speakman, Louis-Dreyfus, and Le Bris all being in attendance at the club shop on Friday would’ve been a nice experience for fans, and their gestures would’ve gone a long way.

Now, Speakman and Le Bris must get to work in the transfer market, with the club having several issues to sort out within their playing squad, whilst also having several players wanted in the Premier League.

It promises to be a busy summer on Wearside. Though it could also be a very exciting one under a new manager, after a rather dire 2023/24 campaign in the Championship.
