Junior Firpo and Joel Robles react to latest transfer announcement coming out of Leeds United

Junior Firpo has given his reaction to the latest transfer news out of Leeds United with his own future at the club still not certain.

All be it in the Championship, Firpo enjoyed his best run as a Leeds player in the second half of last season, claiming an impressive haul of eight assists from New Years’ Day onwards.

He showed clear evidence of how good he can be at this level and having him at left-back for another season would be good, but that is by no means guaranteed.

Firpo has just 12 months remaining on his deal at Elland Road and this summer represents the final chance to get a fee for him, with the offer of a new deal not likely to arrive.

He is one of several big decisions Leeds need to take in terms of outgoings this summer, which finally got underway this week after two weeks of the window being open.

Firpo and Robles send message to Marc Roca

As mentioned, Leeds finally kick started their summer of player exits in recent days and they are certainly expected to be the first of many.

Jack Harrison became the first to seal a departure, as he made the loan move back to Everton for a second successive season. There is still a chance it could become permanent.

Marc Roca then followed him on Friday afternoon, as he put pen-to-paper on a four-year-deal at Real Betis, where he had spent last season on loan.

Betis are believed to have secured his return for just £4.25 million and despite that being over half what Leeds paid for him, the Whites are ‘content’ with the agreement.

Roca posted a long message on Instagram after sealing his exit from Elland Road, was clearly pleased to be back at the Spanish side, having expressed regularly last season how much he wanted to stay.

Two of his former teammates at Leeds in Firpo and Joel Robles are among the players to have reacted to Roca’s move, having both played for Betis earlier in their careers.

Diego Llorente could soon join Roca at Betis

Roca may well not be the only Leeds player who moves to Real Betis this summer, with Diego Llorente also wanted by the Spanish side.

Llorente has been on loan at AS Roma for the 18 months but as they continue to mull over whether to sign him permanently, Betis are keen to swoop.

Unlike Roma, Betis are actually willing to make a permanent offer to Leeds for the 30-year-old and are growing in confidence they can convince him to return to Spain.

Clearly the two clubs have managed to strike up a decent behind-the-scenes relationship based on the amicable agreement they managed to reach with Roca and it could help them with Llorente.
