How Daniel Munoz fared during 13-duel winning display for Colombia in Copa America

Both Colombian Crystal Palace players were in action on Friday night as they maintained a 100 per cent record in Copa America.

Copa America is well underway and unlike the latter games of Euro 2024, goals haven’t been hard to come by as the strongest sides find themselves dominating.

Colombia continued that trend on Friday, thrashing Costa Rica in a 3-0 win which featured two Crystal Palace players in good form.

Both Daniel Munoz and Jefferson Lerma started the game for Colombia and both impressed, which will be music to the ears of Oliver Glasner.

Here’s how they both fared in the game…

How Daniel Munoz and Jefferson Lerma fared for Colombia

During the impressive 3-0 win, both of the players from Selhurst Park once again made the club proud just as they did in their previous game against Paraguay.

In particular, Munoz was immense on Friday as he was tasked with a more defensive role and scored an 8.4 match rating by FotMob for his efforts. Here are some of his highlights.

Defensively Munoz was immovable and deserves a lot of praise for how solid his performance was with 13 duels particularly exciting.

Often he is lauded for his attacking qualities, but against Costa Rica, he showed he has it all as a right back.

Lerma also had a solid outing in midfield, although was far from a standout as he completed just 28/35 passes and won three duels.

With that win, Colombia can now top the group with a win or draw against Brazil on Tuesday night.

Oliver Glasner will love what Daniel Munoz showed

Munoz might already be a star player for Glasner and Crystal Palace, but his outings this summer will have only seen the importance grow.

Glasner will have loved the battling performance, Munoz put in for Colombia as it’s shown qualities which the Eagles could do with next season.

Munoz has already established himself as one of the Eagles’ top players since his arrival in January under Roy Hodgson.

Let’s hope that Munoz carries this international form into next season for the Eagles as if he does, he could be a huge part of the success next season.
