Travis Kelce on his relationship with Taylor Swift: ‘I’m not here to hide anything’

Travis Kelce doesn’t want to hide anything regarding his relationship with Taylor Swift. Like any celebrity couple, especially of greater magnitude, privacy can be hard.

Kelce and Swift certainly tried to keep things as private as possible. But once their relationship evolved in the public setting, such as at Kansas City Chiefs games, all bets were off.

Kelce opened up about that process on Bussin’ With the Boys.

“Nobody knew what was going on,” Kelce said of the start of his relationship with Swift. “We kind of kept it between us as much as we could. But once she came to a game obviously it was … all poppin’ from there.

“You want to keep things private, but at the same time like, I’m not here hide anything. That’s my girl. You know what I mean? That’s my lady. I’m proud of that. So it’s like I’m not sitting here trying to juggle like how can I keep this under wraps? You know what I mean? You just don’t want to let everybody into your personal life and be able to comment on it knowing that everything she does is getting a headline.”

Kelce is known, practically, worldwide by sports fans. But his popularity hit new heights, no pun intended with his podcast with brother Jason.

“Yeah, definitely the pulling up to the house, the just random like, I don’t know,” Kelce said of the fandom and craziness. “It’s been cool. Like it’s a different demographic than the NFL really. So it’s been cool to kind of dabble in that and see her following and everything. It’s been fun because it’s a lot more … kids are way more into the game and Chiefs fans have turned into her fans.. Or her fans have turned into Chiefs fans.

“So it’s like, I’ve had fun with just about every aspect of it, it’s just when you’re at home, you want privacy and you don’t always get that.”

Kelce and Swift seem to have a thriving relationship, so you may definitely wonder what the two will do once he’s done playing football. As of now, Kelce said he’s committed to at least two more years of playing.

“Wear and tear me baby, no-load management over here,” Kelce joked. “I’m 100 percent doing the next two years.”

Then Kelce briefly knocked wood. Yes, he can be superstitious. After all, he did sustain some nicks last fall, missing two games. He caught only 93 passes (as if!) for 984 yards. It’s the first time in eight seasons he didn’t surpass 1,000 yards.

“I’m at least doing (two years), then we’ll see what the future holds,” Kelce says. “I know there are other opportunities off the field for me. I think that was something Jason was really comfortable with, juggling whether he was going to come back. It’s just a situation, I said it the other day, I love coming into work. I have so much fun. I still got the fire to keep getting better, I still got the fire to go out there and do that (stuff) every single day. (And) I can’t really put a number on it, I just know I have two more years on my contract and we’ll see what happens after that.”
