Alphonso Davies sends four-word message to player Man City reportedly want to sign after Euro 2024 heroics

Manchester City are reported to be targeting a player who has lit up Euro 2024 so far.

So far, neither City, Arsenal or Liverpool have made their first summer signing.

However, all three clubs are expected to make moves that bolster their Premier League title challenge — as it can be agreed that every team needs strengthening in certain departments.

In April, it was reported that Pep Guardiola was a fan of Bruno Guimaraes and Joao Neves as potential midfield additions to his side.

Alphonso Davies makes “serious” Jamal Musiala comment amid Man City links

Last season, the likes of Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes struggled to cement this places in City’s midfield; with the former eventually becoming a key cog in the team but the latter just made nine starts.

As Arsenal and Liverpool are likely to bolster their side ahead of next season, Pep Guardiola’s men will also have to bolster key areas — primarily in the middle of the park, with Kovacic being 30 and potentially in the twilight of his career and Nunes yet to make a serious impression at the club.

At the start of the month, one midfielder who had piqued the English giants’ interest was Jamal Musiala, with a claim emerging that they have considered signing him. However, the deal was considered far too challenging for City to get over the line.

On Sunday night, the Bayern Munich superstar was on the score sheet for Germany in their 2-0 win over Denmark in the Round of 16 — with Nico Schlotterbeck playing a wonderful pass for the 21-year-old to chase on to before he finished with aplomb.

As Manchester City-linked technician Musiala celebrated his nation’s qualification to the last-16 on Instagram, Alphonso Davies commented: “Serious individual you are”, followed by an ‘applause’ emoji.

Man City would be even more tempted by Musiala move after Euro 2024 exploits

In June, journalist Christian Falk felt that “something is going on with Jamal Musiala” when discussing his future.

Regardless of whether Musiala is ready to leave Bayern or leave, Manchester City surely must be even more tempted to sign him after witnessing him further cement his magnificence at the European Championship.

Alan Shearer feels that the former Chelsea attacker has been the tournament’s best player.

So far, it is tough to argue against Shearer’s claim, with Musiala being the joint-top goalscorer alongside Georgian striker Georges Mikautadze.

With Musiala having shone in the Bundesliga and the Champions League, now that he has shown that he is ready to make Euro 2024 his tournament, Manchester City would perhaps feel that they could be looking at a player who is not just a remarkable talent but also blessed with an elite mindset.

The German international’s one-of-a-kind dribbling, tremendous technique and versatility also makes him a player who Guardiola would likely be mesmerised by and at just 21, the sky is the limit to where his career can reach.

It will be interesting to whether Manchester City ramp up their efforts to sign the youngster.
