Liverpool continue to keep tabs on Dean Huijsen

According to Tutto Juve, Liverpool continue to keep tabs on Juventus centre-back Dean Huijsen, though, they face stiff competition for his signature.

Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are thought to be leading the race to sign the 19-year-old, who has a minimum price tag of £25m.

Liverpool, Newcastle United, Borussia Dortmund RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen and Stuttgart all remain in the race, so evidently, it won’t be an easy deal to complete for any of the potential suitors.

It’s understand that a decision has not been made by Juve on his future with discussions yet to be held with newly-appointed boss Thiago Motta.

Jose Mourinho really rates Dean Huijsen

Huijsen spent the second half of last season on loan at AS Roma, so Jose Mourinho spent a brief period working with him before being dismissed.

In the short time they had together, Huijsen clearly made a big impression on the former Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur man, as the Portuguese manager claimed he would be a ‘great footballer’ in the future.

“I think that we all know who he is, he is an 18-year-old boy, who has 10 minutes in Serie A, but who is one of the highest quality prospects in European football at this age level. He will be a great footballer in the future,” Mourinho said, via Tutto Mercato.
