Prospective new Wolves signing pictured on a flight to England as he makes emotional farewell post

Pedro Lima is officially in England to complete his move to Wolves.

Wanderers recently agreed a deal with Sport Recife for his transfer, beating Chelsea to the young Brazilian’s signature.

Lima had been all set to make a move to the Blues and it is thought he would have then been loaned to French club Strasbourg.

But the player recently explained his decision to choose Wolves, saying ‘It wasn’t a question of salary, of money, it was more a question of projecting my career. I think a lot about the future, I know where I want to go and I’m looking for the right paths towards my life’s goals’.

Lima clearly felt moving to Wolves would be more beneficial to his development, and now it is just a case of this move being confirmed.

Wolves fans have already seen two players complete moves to the club this summer.

Rodrigo Gomes has announced a couple of weeks ago, and before the 2023/24 season had even ended, it was announced that Tommy Doyle’s loan move was to be turned permanent.

Recently, Wolves agreed a deal with Sport Recife for Lima and he was always going to officially move on July 1.

The club will apparently be paying around £8.45 million, and have agreed to a future sell-on fee ‘between 15% and 20%’.

It is expected that Lima will become a first-team option for Gary O’Neil as opposed to developing in the U21s first.

Wolves fans will not have to wait too much longer for those first pictures of Lima sporting an old gold jersey, because the player is now officially in England to seal his move.

He reposted a picture on his Instagram Story on Saturday showing him and two other people, most likely his mother and father, on a plane.

He included the Brazilian and English flags, and he had also posted the local time, which was 1:08pm.

After this, he then sent a very emotional farewell post to Sport Recife fans. he said: “Gratitude is what I feel for this great club, which formed me and opened the doors so I could realise my dreams.

“Here I’ve spent unforgettable moments from basic to professional. I’m excited and motivated for the next cycle, but I close this one with a lot of gratitude to the club and to the whole red-black nation. ❤️🖤

“Never goodbye but see you later. Thank you Sport! Thank you my Lord, this far the Lord has sustained me!!”

Humble Lima will fit right in at Wolves

Lima is now in England to finalise his move and there will probably be confirmation from the club in the coming days.

The player is actually turning 18 tomorrow, so it would be no surprise if Wolves chose to make the announcement then.

Lima comes across as a really humble young man. From the post he made to Sport Recife fans, it is clear he is extremely grateful to everyone there for what they’ve done for him.

This humility is going to make him a fantastic fit at Wolves.

The club have made a big effort to land not only good players in recent times, but good characters too. It is vital to ensure that the culture in the dressing room is right, and Lima will surely fit in really well.
