'I can guarantee': Wolves told there's something Max Kilman absolutely will not do, as clubs try to sign him

Former Wolves midfielder Dave Edwards has made a prediction about Max Kilman, amid continued speculation about his future.

Captain Kilman has suddenly become the most coveted Wolves player, with at least four Premier League clubs showing interest in him at the moment.

A couple have made bids. West Ham United and Newcastle United have both actively tried to sign him already, with the Magpies even offering Elliot Anderson as part of a deal.

So far though, Wolves have stood firm.

The club want £45 million if they are to sell, with a sizeable chunk of the money set to go to Kilman’s former club Maidenhead United via their sell-on clause.

Dave Edwards has written about Kilman in his latest column for the E&S, and he thinks there is one thing the star won’t do amid all the exit talk.

Edwards feels Wolves are in a very good position with Kilman.

The 27-year-old has a long time left on his contract, and has proven himself as a very capable central defender over the years in the Premier League.

He is an excellent passer of the ball, and can also carry the ball out of defensive. The latter is a trait that not too many central defenders of his size have these days.

It will be interesting to see which way it goes, with West Ham expected to make a new offer for the player. They are actually said to be hopeful of wrapping up a deal later this week. But he will surely go for close to the £45 million asking price Wolves have set.

Edwards believes that the player will not push to leave Molineux though, despite all the noise right now. He’s met him a few times, and gets the feeling it’s something he just wouldn’t do.

He said: “One thing I can guarantee is that Kilman will not be trying to force a move out of Wolves, he’s not that type of character.

“I’ve been lucky enough to meet him a few times and he’s an absolute superstar of a human being.

“The way he talks, the way he holds himself. He’s very intelligent and he has this love for Wolves and gratitude that they took him from obscurity and gave him a chance to become a top Premier League defender.

“He won’t be kicking up a fuss to get a move, but he will have those aspirations, like all footballers, to play at the very, very top and get the best out of himself.”

Kilman loves Wolves

Edwards’ comments about Kilman are no great surprise. The defender has often given the impression that he really loves being at the club.

Recently, he spoke about assuming the captaincy and it’s clear he feels it is a big honour.

He is grateful to the club for plucking him from non-league football and helping him to become the top Premier League defender we see today.

It would be an absolute shock if he was to hand in a transfer request, but it sounds like there is little to no chance of that happening.

If Kilman does leave the club this summer, then he will surely get a big show of love from the Wolves faithful on social media, and then a warm reception when he returns to Molineux as an opposing player.
