£110m Liverpool target turned down PSG move because he wants to come to England

A player who Liverpool are interested in adding to Arne Slot’s squad this summer has now rejected a move to Paris Saint-Germain given he wants to come to England.

Having had more time to work with Liverpool’s new decision-makers, Slot will have likely expressed the signings he desires ahead of the new season.

Jurgen Klopp leaves Anfield having crafted an incredibly well-rounded squad, meaning Slot will be able to predominantly focus on implementing his tactical ideas.

However, the Dutchman will surely request one or two additions, aware of the pressure to succeed in his first season.

That being said, Liverpool reportedly want to add a new centre-back and a new wide-forward this summer.

Joel Matip has left, and the club needs a better contingency plan in case of Virgil van Dijk’s exit in a year’s time.

Perhaps the addition of a new winger will be more of a luxury signing, so to speak, given the club do have several strong forwards already.

But in a summer when Luis Diaz is flirting with a Liverpool exit, an addition may be well-advised.

Liverpool target Khvicha Kvaratskhelia wants to come to the Premier League

Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is said to be on Liverpool’s radar, a 23-year-old who has been thriving at Euro 2024 with Georgia.

Following his impressive exploits with Napoli, Kvaratskhelia now has a considerable reputation across Europe, leading to interest from several elite clubs.

And to that end, the Mirror (page 72, 30/06) have just shared that Kvaratskhelia is keen to come to the Premier League this summer.

In Sunday’s publication, it was shared that Paris Saint-Germain had recently failed with a £110m bid.

Napoli are expressing their firm stance that Kvaratskhelia is not for sale, however, the report believes that the Georgian was not interested in moving to PSG anyway.

And amid talks with Napoli about a contract renewal, Kvaratskhelia is said to prefer the chance to try his luck in the Premier League.

The Mirror’s source claims that Kvaratskhelia turned down PSG because he wants to come to England.

And whilst any move to Liverpool would be enormously expensive, perhaps the 23-year-old could be worth it, given all of the years he has ahead.

At Feyenoord, Slot relied on his wingers for their creativity, with his wide-players often playing the decisive role.

And with Kvaratskhelia and Mohamed Salah on the wings, Slot’s Liverpool would be an incredibly frightening prospect for opposition teams.
