Wolves could land transfer target Bright Osayi-Samuel for cheap this summer

Wolves have been linked to Fenerbahce wide man Bright Osayi-Samuel this summer, and could now be in luck at securing the Nigerian.

Last week, it was reported that the Old Gold had joined Crystal Palace and Leeds United in being admirers of the former QPR star.

Now, journalist Alan Nixon has reported that Fenerbahce could be prepared to sell Osayi-Samuel for a cut price this summer, something that may please Wolves.

“Turkish side Fenerbahce are willing to let Bright Osayi-Samuel return to England.

“Versatile Osayi-Samuel could be sold at a bargain price this summer as the Super Lig side look to cut his big wages from their payroll.”

The 26-year-old, who can play as both a winger and at full-back, could be the ideal purchase for O’Neil to make, certainly now that his price tag is poised to be slim.

Why Gary O’Neil should consider a move for Osayi-Samuel

The Wolves boss seems to value those who can be flexible in their position, which is what the Fenerbahce star could offer at Molineux.

Osayi-Samuel left England in 2021 to join Fenerbahce, where he has since secured racked up 139 appearances and most impressively, has taken up a wide variety of positions.

Whether it be in attack or defence, the Nigeria international has the flexibility that O’Neil appreciates, with a transferable skill set similar to the likes of Rayan Ait-Nouri and Nelson Semedo, who exercise their versatility.

During his time in the Championship with QPR, the 26-year-old played primarily in attack, where he was dubbed an ‘unbelievable talent’ who made the English second tier ‘his playground’, as per journalist Jordan Davies.

Given the Wolves target’s experience at playing in England, and versatility all over the pitch, Osayi-Samuel could be an interesting purchase for O’Neil, with a reduced price opening an encouraging door for the Old Gold.
