Report: Premier League boss to stage 'sit-down' chat with Leeds talent Archie Gray today

Archie Gray is edging towards a Tottenham Hotspur transfer on Sunday from Leeds United as The Whites look to push through a move for the talented teenager.

The 18-year-old has starred for Leeds this season after making his professional debut on the opening day of the season, and clocking up more than 50 appearances in all competitions as Leeds reached Wembley.

But with the Whites unable to secure promotion, the club are preparing for another season in England’s second tier. In order to comply with Profit & Sustainability Rules, Leeds have to make a big sale today.

The deadline for the new financial year in the eyes of PSR is tomorrow and that means Leeds must get a deal done today, in order to to avoid a points deduction and it looks like Gray is the one to be offloaded.

Archie Gray is heading to Tottenham after transfer saga

This summer, Leeds had expected Gray to stay. The talent has often spoken of his love for the club and his desire to stay as long as possible and bring success to Elland Road, not go elsewhere in search of it.

Gray wanted to stay, but Leeds have told him he must now go to bring in necessary funds. Brentford were closing in on a £40m deal and Gray even travelled for a medical, but Leeds then decided to reject a bid.

That has since seen Tottenham steal a march and go in for Gray, with the youngster keen on a move and there being a confidence among all parties a deal can be done that sees Gray relocate to North London.

Postecoglou set for sit-down chat with Leeds talent Gray

Postecoglou has been in Germany this month as a pundit on ITV’s coverage of Euro 2024. But The Mirror say he is now set for a ‘sit-down’ chat with Leeds wonderkid Gray before Spurs thrash out a move for him.

With time running out and Daniel Levy a tough negotiator, it remains to be seen if Spurs can get a deal over the line for Gray or Leeds turn to another club. Liverpool, Chelsea, Villa and West Ham are all keen.

Spurs may even offer Leeds the chance to sign one of two players. Joe Rodon starred for Leeds last term, while Oliver Skipp is linked with a Daniel Farke reunion and Spurs may use one of the two to get Gray.
