The ratio of casualties at the front is currently 6 Russians to 1 Ukrainian. These are the statistics for the Kharkiv and Pokrovsk sectors, says Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"Today, 1 Ukrainian to 6 Russians are killed. We had statistics of about 4 times, and now in the Kharkiv direction, Pokrovsk direction, the figures are 1 to 6," the head of state said.
Zelenskyy emphasized that modern warfare is technological. Therefore, the one who is more technologically advanced wins at the front.
"I am not saying that we will fight to the end and we have enough people. No, I mean that all this talk about a large number of people, millions of people, yes, they are right, but this is a different war. This is a technological war. Whoever is more technologically advanced can win," the president added.
Losses in the war
Ukraine does not disclose military casualties. However, at the end of February 2024, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that 31,000 Ukrainian soldiers had been killed at the front as of that moment.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia has already lost 542,000 soldiers and thousands of pieces of equipment at the front.
Also, when Russia launched an offensive in the area of Vovchansk, Zelenskyy reported that the ratio of losses in the north of Kharkiv region was 8 Russians to 1 Ukrainian.
