Liverpool have made their choice between Teun Koopmeiners and Joshua Kimmich

Liverpool would be sensible to make big moves in the summer transfer window in order to successfully compete on all fronts next season.

Jurgen Klopp didn’t exactly go out on a high, although he did guide the Reds to League Cup success in his final campaign.

More importantly for many Liverpool supporters, however, he has brought Champions League football back to Anfield.

That has provided a huge boost for his successor Arne Slot, who should find it easier to bring in world-class talent.

Two new players in Joshua Kimmich and Teun Koopmeiners have been eyed by the powers that be on Merseyside, with FSG perhaps now needing to make a big choice in the transfer window.

TuttoJuve have now provided an update on the situation regarding the duo, claiming that the Reds will give up on their pursuit of Koopmeiners in favour of a move for Kimmich.

Both players are very versatile, with the former able to operate anywhere in midfield, while the latter is capable of playing in defensive midfield and right-back.

Joshua Kimmich could thrive at Liverpool

Like Koopmeiners, Kimmich has come up against the Reds in the past, with the German ace constantly impressing.

World football is well aware of the talent he has on and off the ball, with that talent currently evident on the international stage at Euro 2024.

The Bayern Munich icon has been impressing for his nation, with the hosts certainly in with a great chance of going all the way on home soil.

That may just increase the interest in Kimmich ahead of the new season, meaning Slot would be wise to try and sort out a deal for the player sooner rather than later.

Along with his versatility, Kimmich has fantastic experience for club and country, and is a big-game player that could really improve Liverpool.

The 29-year-old boasts almost 400 Bayern Munich appearances in competitions such as the Bundesliga and Champions League, while he is likely to surpass 100 Germany caps in the near future.
