Premier League side have just made move to sign 'phenomenal' Tottenham player - journalist

Tottenham Hotspur are stepping up their attempts to bolster Ange Postecoglou’s squad this summer.

Archie Gray is the latest player to be heavily linked with a move to Spurs after the 18-year-old’s move to Brentford collapsed on Sunday.

The youngster was set to have a medical with the Bees but Spurs are now working on a deal to land him from Leeds United.

There remains plenty of work to be done when it comes to offloading players though, with many facing uncertain futures at Tottenham.

Spurs will have to determine the futures of a host of loanees returning to Hotspur Way this summer, including the likes of Djed Spence, Troy Parrott and Joe Rodon.

And according to Football.London’s Alasdair Gold, Rodon is receiving plenty of interest from the Premier League.

Premier League side make formal offer for Joe Rodon

Rodon enjoyed a brilliant loan spell at Leeds last time out where he was a mainstay in Daniel Farke’s side.

However, the Whites missed out on promotion which has thrown a possible switch to Elland Road into doubt.

Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna is a huge fan of Rodon and it would appear the newly promoted side have firmed up their interest in the defender.

Gold took to social media on Sunday evening and claimed the East Anglian side have made a formal offer to sign Rodon this summer.

As well as Ipswich, Rodon is also attracting interest from Leeds and Leicester City.

Tottenham should use Rodon as part of Archie Gray deal

With interest in Rodon from Leeds, Spurs could explore the possibility of including Rodon in a deal for Gray.

Of course, much would depend on the Welshman’s stance as he is attracting firm interest from a couple of Premier League sides.

But the ‘phenomenal’ centre-back thrived under Farke last season and admitted ahead of the play-off final defeat to Southampton that he was hoping to secure a top flight return with Leeds.

“It would be nice to have stability and know where I am next season,” Rodon said. “I’ve always strived to get to the elite level and hopefully I can get back there with Leeds, but you never know.

“I don’t want to look too far into the future, although I do love it here and Leeds feels like a second home to me now. I’m just concentrating on giving my best and getting this club back to where it belongs.”
