'All the best': Bobby Clark and Jayden Danns react as midfielder's exit from Liverpool is confirmed

Liverpool boast several young stars, many of which came to the fore in Jurgen Klopp’s final season in charge.

The German was forced to turn to his academy graduates during the course of the campaign due to constant first-team injuries.

And they certainly didn’t let him down, with the likes of Bobby Clark and Jayden Danns among others stepping up to the plate.

Their displays may just have caught the attention of new manager Arne Slot, who would be wise to follow Klopp’s approach to youth at Liverpool.

Indeed, the former Anfield boss has already mooted several young players to shine under the new manager, including the likes of Clark, James McConnell and Kaide Gordon.

Bobby Clark and Jayden Danns react to Melkamu Frauendorf’s Liverpool exit

But one young player who definitely doesn’t have a future at Liverpool is Melkamu Frauendorf, who has signed for Hannover 96.

The 20-year-old joined the Reds from Hoffenheim in August 2020, and made two senior appearances for the Merseyside club.

The midfielder was clearly a popular figure at Anfield, with many of his former teammates now taking to social media to wish him the very best with his transfer.

Frauendorf took to Instagram to say his goodbyes, writing: “As I am entering a new chapter in my career at Hannover 96 Football Club, today is the day to say goodbye and THANK YOU for the four wonderful years I spent at the Liverpool Academy.

“I could not have wished for better training conditions, and my special thank you goes out to my coaches, and to all my teammates.”

Among those commenting were Clark and Gordon, who wrote: “All the best brother,” while both McConnell and Danns reacted with heart emojis.

Will Arne Slot give youth a chance at Liverpool?

Slot has already been warned by Darren Bent not to change everything at Anfield, but the Dutchman will be keen to put his own spin on things.

The former Feyenoord manager cannot stay in Klopp’s shadow, with fans expecting big things on Merseyside sooner rather than later.

He will undoubtedly be relying on his key figures to step up in the early stages, as proven with his immediate phone call with captain Virgil van Dijk.

But the centre-back and several other senior players are currently on international duty and will therefore not likely return back for pre-season for some time.

That should allow the young players to get plenty of face time with Slot at Melwood, where they can try and impress in training ahead of the new season.

Having shone last time out, it seems certain that players such as Clark, McConnell and Danns will all have roles to play under Slot.
