Pair, who are landlords of The Half Moon in Rushall, add to growing empire as they kick-off life at The Dickleburgh Crown

A pair of landlords at a well-known village pub have taken on a second with a totally different style.

Justin Arnold and Keighly Marsh, who took over The Half Moon Inn in Rushall in 2021, have opened the doors to The Dickleburgh Crown after getting the keys to the business in May.

The 51-year-olds, who also run a food truck at the 100th Bomb Group Memorial Museum in Dickleburgh, felt it was too good an opportunity to turn down.

Miss Marsh said: “I have been driving past The Crown for three years and always thought it was a lovely pub with a lot of potential. I wanted somewhere where we could have bands, pool, darts teams and football on the TV.”

The pub, which has a 75-inch screen as well as three 55-inch TVs, has become a sports bar and, with the European Championships on at the moment, as well as Wimbledon and the Olympics on the horizon, the pair thought it was the perfect time and place to expand their empire.

“People are really embracing our idea and it is just something different for the area,” said Miss Marsh.

“It will have an electric atmosphere in here when big sporting events are on and I love the thought of people enjoying them in this pub.”

The pub has already had a couple of booths installed and a commercial kitchen is being put in, with plans to serve American diner-style food in the coming months.

There is also work going on in the four coaching inn rooms, which include beams and vaulted ceilings.

Miss Marsh added: “There is a lot of things going on at the moment and we would just like to thank everyone so much for the local support we have had so far.

“We want this to be the heart and soul of the community and it has been great to see villagers coming out and supporting us. It is really lovely.”
