76-year-old man found guilty in sexual assault of young child

A 76-year-old man was convicted by a jury last week of sexually assaulting a young girl in 2018.

Joseph Jackson, of Pennsauken, was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault and another two counts of endangering the welfare of a child on Friday, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office said in a news release.

Jackson was arrested on March 5, 2019, on allegations that he sexually assaulted a nine-year-old girl, officials said. The assaults reportedly occurred at Jackson’s home in Pennsauken as well as another location in Riverton, Burlington County, prosecutors said.

His sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 6.
