Chelsea fans are all saying the same thing about N’Golo Kante after his performance against Belgium

Former Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante helped France to beat Belgium on Monday and qualify for the quarter-finals of Euro 2024.

It is some tournament N’Golo Kante is having, with the 33-year-old being one of France’s top performers so far.

According to WhoScored, Kante is making 2.3 tackles per game, which is the third-highest average in his squad.

His form has not gone unnoticed, with Chelsea fans having plenty to say about their former player after his latest display.

Chelsea fans question club

Kante’s performance against Belgium now has Chelsea supporters questioning why the club allowed him to leave.

The Blues let the France international join Al-Ittihad on a free transfer last year, a decision that fans are now not happy about.

One Chelsea fan on X said: “Whoever was behind N’Golo Kante’s exit should be sacked immediately. He’s literally better than everything we’ve got in midfield.”

Another fan said: “Chelsea fans moaned over the sell of [Mason] Mount and are moaning now over the potential sell of [Conor] Gallagher when we literally sold Kante! Matter of fact, a limping Kante is 10x better than these bums the fans are complaining about.”

It did not stop there.

Another supporter posted: “Chelsea’s medical department must repent for their sins, man. You’re telling me we just let Kante go without a fight?”

“Watching N’Golo Kante at Euro 2024 really makes Chelsea look silly for not extending his contract & letting him go for free,” were the words of one other Chelsea fan.

And another said: “Wish we could’ve kept Kante for a little longer.”

In Chelsea’s defence, Kante had reached a stage in his career where he could just not stay fit.

During his final season at Stamford Bridge, he was only able to make nine appearances.

Moises Caicedo can replace N’Golo Kante

Since Kante’s departure, Chelsea have signed Moises Caicedo, who is currently their most expensive signing ever.

Like Kante, Caicedo is also very good at winning back the ball.

As per FBref, the Ecuadorian made 91 tackles in the Premier League last season, putting him in the top 10 players for that area.

At 22, Caicedo is still so young as well. You would expect him to only get better during his time at Chelsea.

It is a shame that Kante is no longer at Stamford Bridge, especially with the way he is playing right now. But again, after all of his injury problems, you can understand why the club decided to let him go.
