Report: Wolves are sending scouts to Euro 2024 Round of 16 tonight to watch £29m player

Wolves will reportedly have scouts in attendance for a match at Euro 2024 today, with one player set to be the focus of their attention.

It has been a busy summer so far at Wolves.

The club have been active on the incoming front, with two more new faces set to sign for the club.

Jorgen Strand Larsen and Pedro Lima both completed medicals at Compton Park on Monday, and fans are now just waiting for the official announcements.

They will follow Tommy Doyle and Rodrigo Gomes in becoming new Wolves players. Strand Larsen will reportedly be joining on an initial loan first.

But Wolves are unlikely to stop there.

Apparently, the club will be sending scouts to attend Turkey vs Austria tonight at Euro 2024, to watch one player in particular.

It has been reported by Fotomac that Wolves are one of nine clubs that will be sending scouts to tonight’s game between Turkey and Austria at Euro 2024, to watch Fenerbahce star Ferdi Kadioglu.

So far, Kadioglu has played every minute of Turkey’s Euros campaign.

He has impressed out in Germany, and his form at the tournament has followed another strong season with Fenerbahce, for whom he is one of the star players.

For the Turkish giants, he has clocked up 199 appearances, scoring 17 goals and making 22 assists.

Kadioglu is a wanted man.

Representatives from many clubs will be present for tonight’s game in Leipzig. As well as Wolves, there will be scouts from Stuttgart and Bayer Leverkusen, Arsenal, West Ham United, Fulham, Atletico Madrid and Valencia.

It is mentioned that Borussia Dortmund have already tried to sign Kadioglu. They saw an offer of £21 million rejected, with Fenerbahce demanding at least £29 million.

A potential Ait-Nouri replacement

This is an interesting claim, with Kadioglu having really impressed for Fenerbahce in recent times.

Currently, Wolves don’t have any need for a new left-back or left wing-back.

The club have ‘no plans’ to sell Rayan Ait-Nouri this month, so while the Algerian remains at Molineux there doesn’t appear to be much need.

That said, it’s not out of the question a huge offer could come in for him, and if that happens Wolves would have to at least consider it.

So there is no harm in at least taking a look at Kadioglu. Although, he would likely be very difficult to sign given the level of interest.

Potentially, he could be a great replacement for Ait-Nouri should the Wolves man leave. According to Breaking The Lines, he is ‘a technically secure, intelligent fullback with great creativity either through his passing ability or dribbling’.

He also ‘glides on the ball with composure and is an associative player who loves to interchange with his teammates whether at fullback, attacking midfielder or on the wings’.
