Report: How much Wolves are set to pay for Jorgen Strand Larsen, as agreement in principle now reached

Wolves have reportedly now reached an agreement in principle with Celta Vigo to sign Jorgen Strand Larsen.

Earlier today, news surfaced out of the blue that Wolves were in advanced talks with sign the Norway international.

Gary O’Neil has been after a striker since January, and had wanted to bring one in midway through last season. But the club’s financial position made things very difficult.

The desire for a new number nine has remained, and Wolves are now actively pushing for Strand Larsen.

It is a fast-moving story, with Wolves now looking in a very good position to sign the 24-year-old.

It has been reported today by Norwegian outlet Nettavisen that Wolves have now reached an agreement in principle with Celta Vigo to sign Strand Larsen.

They stop short of saying how much the deal is worth.

But talkSPORT do provide some information, claiming that Wolves will be paying around £25 million.

At the moment, there isn’t an agreement between Strand Larsen and Wolves just yet. But it’s thought personal terms should soon be sorted.

Nettavisen say that Strand Larsen could ‘eventually’ become the biggest sale in Celta Vigo’s history. At the moment, Gabri Veiga is their record player sale, after he joined Al-Ahli last summer for around £25 million.

This would potentially suggest that Wolves will pay an initial fee, followed by add-ons.

Should this deal come to fruition, then Strand Larsen will become one of the more expensive signings in recent Wolves history.

Potentially, given the outlay on him, Wolves could soon make a big sale, with speculation having been rife about Max Kilman this past week.

Wolves making moves

Wolves fans were furious at the start of the summer about the decision to significantly raise season ticket prices.

Many are still angry over that, although the club have since scrapped increases for U14s and announced adult prices will be frozen for 2025/26.

But it has been a very good start to the summer on the transfers front, with fans having wanted to see a bit of ambition from the board.

It remains to be seen if some big sales will be made. But Strand Larsen looks like a decent striker having hit 13 goals in La Liga last term, and he might be a really good fit for the Premier League given his height and power.
