Jamie O'Hara says he is 'buzzing' after hearing 'brilliant' news coming from Tottenham

Jamie O’Hara has now reacted to news coming from Tottenham – and he seems absolutely delighted.

It has been a quiet summer for Spurs so far, with no Tottenham representatives playing for England at Euro 2024 – while things have been fairly quiet on the recruitment front.

Now – however – Tottenham have made their first signing of the summer, and Jamie O’Hara has shared his thoughts on the deal…

Jamie O’Hara reacts as Tottenham announce Archie Gray

Spurs have now announced the £30m signing of Archie Gray from Leeds.

The 18-year-old wonderkid looked set to join Brentford in a £35m deal after agreeing personal terms and undergoing a medical with the Bees, although he opted to sign for Tottenham instead after a late change of heart.

After hearing the news, O’Hara wrote: “Spurs sign Archie Gray 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 top work that, brilliant young talent will get his chance with Ange buzzing #COYS”

Joe Rodon has moved to Leeds on a permanent basis as part of the deal – hence the £30m fee being below the £35m Brentford agreed – having spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan at Elland Road from Spurs.

Spurs fans should be buzzing

In our view, every Tottenham fan should feel the same way as O’Hara.

Gray is an unbelievable talent, with Victor Orta – previously Director of Football at Leeds – once telling La Media Inglesa that the teenager gave him a similar level of excitement as seeing a young Sergio Aguero at a South America U20 tournament did.

The Yorkshire Evening Post quoted the Spaniard as saying: “It has actually happened only a few times, in the South America U20 tournament Aguero scored ten or 12 goals or something like that, you could see he was different. Archie gives me the same feeling.”

Gray – who will wear the No.14 shirt at Tottenham – has already won two caps for the England U21 side and boasts 52 senior appearances for Leeds, so it would appear he is ready to walk straight in under Ange Postecoglou.
