When Chelsea players are going to return to pre-season under Enzo Maresca - journalist

Everyone at Chelsea is eagerly anticipating the beginning of pre-season and the start to life under a new manager.

Enzo Maresca was the man selected to take over the job done by Mauricio Pochettino, and many are keen to see how he gets on in his first campaign in charge in the Premier League.

Ahead of another tour of the United States to get ready for domestic football, the Italian has already put in plenty of work to try and get to know his squad.

A number of his players are off representing their countries at both Euro 2024 and Copa America, with their country’s acknowledging just how talented they are.

Because of this, there was always going to be a split return time on them coming back to Chelsea.

Journalist Simon Phillips has given an update on when he expects everyone to be back, saying some have even already returned to Cobham ahead of the new season.

He said: “Some Chelsea players been back at Cobham today alongside Enzo Maresca (first official day but he’s been there for weeks now).

Some players filtered back in before today, more on July 4th, and the rest coming back from Euros as and when. Maresca been working for weeks!”

The likes of Raheem Sterling and Levi Colwill will be hoping for strong starts to the campaign after they were left out of the recent England squad that is currently representing out in Germany.

As well as those, some players have a point to prove in order to avoid being sold, with reports linking Noni Madueke with a move away this summer.

While that has quietened down slightly in the last few days since a move for Michael Olise fell through, there are still reports the Blues are hungry to add a new winger to their ranks.
