Report: West Ham had scouts watching a Euro 2024 'superstar' last night

West Ham United had scouts in attendance at the European Championships in Germany last night as they kept close tabs on one particular player.

The Hammers will be desperate to return to European football under the stewardship of Julen Lopetegui this season.

They’ve already added Luis Guilherme to their ranks and now are eyeing up a move for a Euro 2024 player who’s shone so far this tournament.

West Ham scouting Ferdi Kadioglu last night

According to Turkish outlet MIlat, West Ham United scouts were in attendance during Turkey’s 2-1 win against Austria in Leipzig last night.

It’s reported that they were keeping a close eye on Turkey’s left-back Ferdi Kadioglu, who has really impressed many throughout the tournament.

Fulham and Wolves scouts were also watching him as were Arsenal, who are really keen on signing the ‘superstar’ left-back.

Kadioglu certainly would’ve impressed Hammers chiefs as he defended resolutely whilst showing his attacking capabilities – constantly driving forward and creating opportunities for his teammates.

The cost of Ferdi Kadioglu

Kadioglu, who celebrated his 24th birthday in October, is likely to depart Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce this summer with interest so advanced.

Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal appear to be leading the race for his signature thus far but West Ham would certainly be an attractive proposition as they look to challenge the top six.

Whoever lands his signature would need to meet his near £30m valuation – which seems like a reasonable fee given his stock has skyrocketed at Euro 2024 due to a number of exceptional performances.

With Emerson Palmieri potentially departing West Ham this summer, it’s evident a left-back is needed and one that’d fit Lopetegui’s system.

A telling few weeks lie ahead.
